Pilanesberg National Park

The Pilanesberg National Park is located in North West Province in South Africa, west of Pretoria. The park borders with the entertainment complex Sun City. Pilanesberg Game Reserve is home to the Big 5 and offers a variety of affordable accommodation, from self-catering to luxury 5 Star Lodges.

Terms | Conditions

Rate inclusions:

  • Accommodation , all meals (brunch , afternoon tea , dinner), selected teas, coffees and snacks as well as 2 safaris per day.

Rates Excludes

  • Our daily conservation levies , beverages , transfers , and any other items of personal use
  • Black Rhino Conservation/Entrance Fees  R195  per person per day for 2026, from 01 January 2026.
  • The above is our confirmed and final rates (with all standard T & C ‘s still in place).

Single Supplement

  • Our standard 50% single supplement will be applied on your first 4 single rooms booked.
  • Thereafter a 25% single supplement to be applied to any additional single rooms booked.

Children Policy

Children of all ages are welcome at the lodge.

0-5 years:

Not permitted on standard game drives due to safety concerns and potential disruptions to other guests.
However, children in this age group can participate in a specially designed morning "bumble drive" subject to availability and management discretion. Bush Bumbles are shortened game drives (between 45min-1hour), which go out after breakfast/brunch. This is a complimentary service that we offer. Both parents are more than welcome to still join in on the main morning & afternoon game drives as well as join the kiddos on the bush bumble.

6-11 years: Permitted on game drives at management's discretion. Parents/Guardians must sign an indemnity form prior to the child participating in the game drive.

12 years and older:

Permitted on game drives, subject to the lodge's standard terms and conditions.
All children under the age of 12 needs to be supervised by an adult especially when using the pool facilities. Unfortunately, no babysitting service is available due to legislative and company policies.

IMPORTANT DIETARY NOTICE:

Black Rhino Game Lodge regrets that we are unable to accommodate Kosher and Halal dietary requirements due to our kitchen facilities and staff not being certified or trained to handle these specific dietary needs.

Kindly take special note that:

  • Our kitchen is not Kosher or Halal certified
  • Our staff are not trained to handle Kosher or Halal food preparation
  • We cannot guarantee the segregation of utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas

If you require strict adherence to Kosher or Halal dietary laws, we kindly request that you consider alternative accommodations that can meet your specific needs. We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Useful Information

The road is tarred till by the main entrance gate and in good state of repair.
A good quality gravel road leads from the gate to the lodge, located about 3 km inside the reserve and accessible with a sedan.
All guests entering into the reserve have to sign an indemnity at the gate. This is standard procedure. The speed limit in the reserve is only 30 km/h (18 mi/h) and is strictly enforce for their own safety.
Guest cannot stop and exit their vehicles in the reserve.
No self-drive game drives are allowed on the Black Rhino Game Reserve. Should guests wish to do a self-drive of the Pilanesberg National Park, they have to exit the reserve and enter at one of the national parks gates (fees are applicable at the gate). Bakubung gate is the closest.

No day visitors are allowed on the Black Rhino Game Reserve, it is for exclusive use of overnight guests.

Check in time is strictly from 14:00 and check out on the day of departure is strictly at 10:30.

Should you be departing before 07:00 am, please inform the Duty Manager or Receptionist and your account can be settled after dinner the evening prior to your departure.

  • Brunch is served from 09:00 to 11:30.
  • Afternoon High Tea is served from 14:00 to 16:00.
  • Dinner is served from 19:00 for 19:30 to 21:00.
  • Should you wish not joining the morning Game Drive. If you depart earlier than 09:00, you are welcome to request a breakfast pack.
  • Kindly advise in advance for any special dietary requirements, as we do cater for all our guests needs.
  • Game Drives depart as per the Schedule below, please meet with your Ranger half an hour before in the Restaurant to ensure you are on time for your Game Drive.

Summer Times: 01 October – 31 March

  • Morning Game Drive meet at 05:00 am for a 05:30 am Departure – Return +/- 08:30
  • Afternoon Game Drive meet at 16:00 for 16:30 Departure – Return +/- 19:00

Winter Times: 01 April – 31st September

  • Morning Game Drive meet at 05:30 am for a 06:00 am Departure – Return +/- 09:00
  • Afternoon Game Drive meet at 15:30 for 16:00 Departure – Return +/- 18:30
  • Children under the age of six (6) are not permitted on Game Drives. Please arrange all Bush Bumbles with your allocated Ranger. Bumbles are between 09h30 to 10h30.
  • Babysitting services can be arranged in advance at Reception.

Guests are not permitted to leave the entry gate at the lodge on foot.

DINING TIMES

  • We offer the following dining schedule for your enjoyment: Brunch: 09:00 – 11:30
  • Afternoon High Tea: 14:00 – 16:00
  • Dinner: Served from 19:00 for 19:30 – 21:00
  • Should you not be joining the morning game drive and plan to depart before 09:00, you are welcome to request a breakfast pack the evening before. If you have any special dietary requirements, please inform us in advance so we can cater accordingly.

MINIMUM 2 NIGHT SAYS APPLICABLE FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHTS
The below rates are quoted per person per night sharing.

Deposit Policy

  • For all bookings made within 30 days of travel
  • Full payment Is required within 48 hours of your booking.
  • For all bookings made more than 30 days of travel
  • A 50% deposit Is required within 48 hours of your booking and the balance 30 days prior to arrival.
  • Payment can be made via bank transfer, credit card (Master/Visa) or bitcoin.

Cancellation Policy

  • All cancellations must be sent in writing to reservations. Penalties are calculated on the total cost of stay.
  • All no shows will be charged at 100% of the total value of the booking.
  • Days prior to arrival: 60 - 31 Days - 50%
  • 30 Days or Less - 100%

Pool Towels

Pool towels are available at reception and need to be returned upon departure.

Gratuities

If you wish to leave a gratuity for our friendly rangers or staff, envelopes are available at reception, or you may request assistance from the Duty Manager.
