How to get here

From Johannesburg/Pretoria take the N1 north towards Polokwane. Take the N4 Rustenburg split. A signboard indicates Pilanesberg to the left on route 91.

Best time to visit

Summers can get hot, but visitors to Pilanesberg will enjoy the park all year round.

Where to stay

Pilanesberg offers a variety of affordable accommodation, like the self-catering Manyane, Bakgatla and Metswedi camps. The Tshukudu, KwaMaritane and Bakubung game lodges are also situated in the reserve.

Around the area

Sun City, with its entertainment centre, golf course, water world and casino, is right next door.

Activities include game drives, either self-driven or guided, game walks and birding. Pilanesberg also operates balloon safaris.

Location & Directions
Take the N4 Hi-way to Sun City - This road leads onto the R556. You will pass Sun City on your right hand side. Travel to the 4 way stop and turn right onto the R565. Travel on this road R565 for approximately 28km. Black Rhino Game Reserve is on your Right hand side - marked with a large white board BLACK RHINO GAME RESERVE.
Please tell Security you are travelling to Lodge 4.

Each comfortable air-conditioned suite offers a T.V., hot beverage facility, and private patio that opens out into the bush.
The designer bathroom opens out onto a totally secluded outdoor shower. In addition, there is a small central entertainment area comprising a boma, fully equipped kitchen, lounge, dining and covered patio with a plunge pool.

Children of all ages are welcome at the lodge. Children 0 – 5 yrs stay complimentary, 5 – 11 yrs enjoy a 50% discount and children 12 yrs and older pay the full adult rate.
